Article Number Settings

Available with ecommerce search

This is a Product Search feature, available only on ecommerce (Content + Product Search) projects. To use it, explore ecommerce search, start a trial, or contact support.

Article Number Settings control which product attributes act as article or SKU numbers and how those numbers are matched against a query. Find them under Search Settings → Article Number Settings.

Article Number Attribute

Select the concept or attribute to use for article-number matching — for example sku, sxIdentifierAttribute, or sxGroupIdentifierAttribute. You can add more than one entry, each with its own matching rules.

Match Logic

Choose whether a query must match the full article number or may match part of it:

  • Full — the query must match the entire article number.
  • Partial — the query can match part of the article number, controlled by the options below.

When Partial is selected:

  • Type of Partial Match — where the match is anchored:
    • Smart defaults (with separators) — split the article number on separators and match the resulting parts.
    • Beginning — match from the start of the article number.
    • Ending — match from the end of the article number.
    • Anywhere — match any part of the article number.
  • Min. Matching Characters — the minimum number of characters a query must share with the article number to count as a match (for example, 3).

Stop Condition

Control when the search stops after it finds article-number matches:

  • After Full Match — stops searching after finding a full or close number match.
  • After Any Match — stops searching after finding a full or partial match.
  • Never — continues searching across all fields, including article number, title, and description.

New Article Number Search

The Enable New Article Number Search toggle on the General tab turns on the updated article-number search engine that these settings configure.
